Food and our children Today's message about our relationship with food, among other things has me reviewing all of the issues I am facing in integrating my food related fragments. Teal talks about individual relationships with food. I would like to know how to feed our children so that we do not repeat the cycle of control, emotional starvation, self hatred, emotional eating, choices, health and teach our children a healthy relationship with food when we (or at least I) come from such a shattered food upbringing.
  7. Children's Spiritual education curriculum I've had an opportunity dropped in my life to help create and structure the children's Sunday school spiritual curriculum and operations for my community's new thought church. It got me thinking and excited about what a great opportunity this might be. It would probably need to start small and grow bigger. Because of current limitations with volunteers and rooms I was thinking about a Montessori program with activities that are set up in age appropriate groupings that address each category in the spiritual curriculum. I wanted the activities to be fun and introduce spiritual concepts in a way that are meaningful to the kids on their level. I like the idea of the activities to be child directed and not all teacher directed so the children can choose what activity they want to do but I also what to encourage positive social interactions and group activities. I also needs suggestions on how to help the kids feel safe and secure when having to leave their parents while attending the school. My initial vision is to find a way to inspire this congregation to create a greater ownership for all the children of this community, and find and opportunities to inspire parents to have greater connection and relationships with their children. I also what to create a safe environment for parents to meet and use each other as support and resources to better meet their children's needs. What would y'all suggest as subjects that should be included in this curriculum? What activities could be used with various age groups to introduce these concepts in a meaningful way to the kids? How could you incorporate parent and congregation participation? Thanks for y'alls thoughts and suggestions
  8. THE RIE PARENTING APPROACH Does anyone here follow the RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) philosophy? I am a first time Mum to a 7 month old boy and have been loosely following the RIE approach to parenting as it is respectful and encourages independent development. However, I don't necessarily believe in every single approach and I am feeling torn about their sleeping techniques. I've been having trouble with my boy sleeping through the night and in his crib. We are currently co-sleeping and as much as it is working for him, it's not the best for me or my partner. Any advice would be much appreciated!
  9. The Defective Doll in this Ask Teal episode refers to your dysfunctional relationship with your parents or kids. It deals with your perception of who your child or parent is versus who you want them to be. Teal Swan explains that by seeing this dysfunctional dynamic we can truly see our relationships for what they are, and in turn heal them. 10. Ownership of our own actions and decision making in relationships is essential. Teal Swan explains that the reason we can’t do this is due to our childhood dynamics and how we dealt with the boundaries of our parents. Most children sacrificed their own needs in order to appease their parent and unfortunately this behavior often carries through to our adult relationships. 11. What is a child’s real purpose? What are children really teaching parents and adults during the process of parenting? When it comes to parenting, a child's purpose is to teach Parents and Adults what Parents and adults have disowned within themselves. Parents suppress their inner children, and when they have kids, their children reflect what their inner children are trying to tell them. In this episode, Teal Swan tells the truth about parenting. 12. How do I forgive a child abuser for my own inner peace? I'm having a real hard time accepting things like this but - There's this trial that's been going on about "Baby doe" around my area, and well what happened was in 2015 this baby girl was found dead and could not be identified for months, and it turned out to be a little toddler named Bella. Apparently she was beaten to death by her mother's boyfriend and her mother was aware of this and helped cover it up. So now fast forward two years - and the mother has finished her two years she was sentenced in exchange to testify against him, and is to be released in a couple weeks while he faces life. So my issue is bugging me and that is, why is this woman allowed to see the light of day again? I have so much fury and anger over this situation, and I am full of hate toward her and feel sick, like I have a ball of firey anger in me right now since this woman exists. I cannot believe that a mother would put her life beyond her child's, and to me that is unfathomable. I do not care if her mother was being abused or hurt, that does not justify what happened, and the worst part about my feelings right now is that I hope she continues to be hurt for the rest of her life for doing this to a small child who deserved nothing but love I'm very shaken up by this and I hope that I can figure out how to rationally forgive these people or think in my head or at least empathize with it all, but I am having a lot of trouble in doing so. I want to be able to heal, and to understand and forgive, it's just hard to see anything worth it right here.

Raising a child with Autism Hi there, I would like to start by saying thank you to Teal. I discovered your videos 3 years ago and have made leaps and bound in my spiritual evolution since then. In addition to information, you have given me validation and the permission to be myself. I may be physically alone most of the time, but I now know that there are actual people out there just like me. I never would have know that without your work. So, my question is about my daughter who has autism. I believe that she experiences some of the things that Teal has said about the way she views the world (sensory over load, not being able to see negative space, synethesia, seeing non-physical entities, etc). For example, when walking on a new surface that she has never seen before, Phoenix will reach out a toe to test the ground and make sure its solid. She also see's things before they happen, like a night last week when there was a thunderstorm. Phoenix was content on the couch with her iPad and then, for no apparent reason, she ran over to me and clung tightly to my neck. I had no idea what she was afraid of until the lights went out, making it pitch black in our apartment. She has been diagnosed with Autism, but we haven't figured out where she is on the spectrum. She is a very sweet and social little girl, but she has trouble with communication (cannot speak yet) and gets frustrated easily as a result of this. I would love tips on how to raise her. Help her cope with stressful situations and the best way to teach her to function in society. Help please!

  15. Hope_vZ

I recently found your video series on Youtube and was really excited to learn so much and find so much hope and comfort. I too had a very neglected, abusive (sexual, mental, physical and emotional) and torturous childhood, by my own family members who all claimed to be very religious, and I am gradually learning to grow and heal and live without fear. I have, however, ran into a situation that is quite perplexing and frustrating. My husband has never been loving or supportive and I always felt alone but now even more after he saw your video about apathy and realised that he fits into that "type" perfectly and yet has decided that he "does not want to change". We have spoken a lot and he is adamant that he does not know what he is missing and therefore he doesn't need to change anything. I have come a long way in my progress, but I cannot live alone yet, I cannot be the sole provider for my daughter's emotional and other needs yet, I cannot be a martyr either, I am not good at staying in a job or place or situation where I am not comfortable. I still have a lot of healing to do and a lot to learn. Could you please help me? I feel extremely overwhelmed!
