Don't confuse narcissism with self-love because it's anything but. The person who is narcissistic becomes obsessively preoccupied with their own self-interests, needs and wants because they are starving to death inside. They go on a quest externally to find approval, superiority, admiration and significance, but the quest for attention is merely an attempt to fill the void of feeling worthless.
