Some people think that if a specific person can’t be a resource for a specific thing that they are wanting, then that person is of no use to them at all. It’s a bit like deciding that if a hardware store doesn’t sell flowers, then that hardware store has no place in their life, is of no use to them, and never will be of use to them. By doing this, people inevitably end up alone and with extremely limited resources.
