  1. Interesting observation Teal. And completely to the point. Im living in Amsterdam, as well as in Netherlands, for 8 years now, and honestly it took me a couple of years to figure out "what's wrong", as I simply could not feel connected, no matter how hard I tried. And most of foreigners living here are having the same type of difficulty as far as my experience. Interestingly Dutch people are much more tolerant to foreign cultures then many other european countries, but this does indeed comes from the mind space and not the heart space. Extremely well organised, even in the areas like romantic relationships dutch people seem to have things under control. A lot of them are aware of the split though in my impression, and to some extend they recognise the kind of trap their culture has created.
