Personally, I use hazelnuts instead of peanuts or cashews, because peanuts and cashews are high in lectins which most people are at least a little sensitive to. Also, I'd use dried mulberries or dates rather than maple syrup because of how concentrated a sweetener maple syrup is. It personally causes me migraines. We've been making some raw vegan brownies by simply blending the following in the food processor, mashing the mixture onto a cutting board and then slicing:
2 cups hazelnuts (organic, raw)
1 cup dates, pitted (organic, raw)
¾ cup cacao powder (organic, raw)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons water
It's funny, I've published several recipe books, but I have yet to finish most of my more serious books, and yet Teal is the opposite, having four published process-oriented books, but not yet having a recipe book out.
