You are a source of nutrients for the soil in my life too. I speak about you fondly, the dark and the light, to all of my friends and family, and often to strangers as well. I accept you as you are.   4. I love this part, "Since when did cowardice become a virtue? My favorite part about myself is the fact that even though I get hurt, I will throw myself head first into life and into love again and again." I had the fortune to be in three different long-term abusive relationships in my teenage years. Each relationship was a huge catalyst for growth (as you put it) and helped me mature into a better person. Each relationship (of roughly two years) prepared me for the next two years. I was able to live with my partners and enmesh myself fully with their lives very early in life, so I was able to make a marriage at the age of twenty which I've kept for ten years now and have no intention of letting go. (Although, without polyamory it would have failed.) It if were not for those seven years of serious relationships and serious failures first, there is no way I could have the relationships I have now.
  5. It is really beautiful how you were able to stay in community together (at least for a time?) and grow. For me, polyamory has been the answer. I have two husbands now. The first one I committed to in 2010, and in 2015 we were having serious problems that almost caused us to divorce. Late in 2015, I met a man who became my second husband in 2016, perfectly filling the holes in my existing relationship. Now, in 2019, the three of us are still happily sharing a home and a family. My husband since 2010 and I are still very close, but our relationship is almost platonic. He had started identifying as asexual. We cuddle and talk and spend late nights together. He is capable of incredible emotional presence. My newer husband (since 2016) is a source of sexual connection and romance which never really sparked between my first husband and I. The three of us together balance out in a way that no two of us could have.

Or, like me, you wish you made friends, you sometimes try to make friends, you sometimes think you've made friends, and then sometimes you realize your friends aren't as much your friends as you thought, or that your friends think of you as a friend but they aren't actually the type of deep-friend connections you want . . . Anyway, I have a very detailed article called "Why is it so hard to make friends?" that you might benefit from. You also @Andraeleis13 and @Rahul Johar.
  7. This was really fantastic for me. I listened to the whole thing while watercolor painting in the coloring book I published last year (Waveward Dreams). I resonated a lot with a couple of the questions, especially about needing someone else to facilitate because some part of me resents having to heal myself, take care of myself, or do everything myself. I have never directly worked with this feeling because I'm afraid that if I heal it, then others will be even less likely to help me. So that overlaps with a few questions that were asked, actually. I am now seriously considering investing in hiring a Completion Process Practitioner because I believe my needs around having this done for me are directly conflicting with needs of my husbands, which is why we are hit-and-miss with processing one another.   8. I related a lot to the second woman on stage. I hide at home, and I use difficulties with my body as an excuse to stay safe . . . and lonely. I have a great life at home, but it's too small a life. I know I want to emerge more into the world, but I keep choosing simplicity, safety, solitude . . .

    Well illustrated. I'm often frustrated by the swarms of critical, suspicious people who want to scream there is a "lack of evidence!" I want to tell these people to read The Continuum Concept or any thing else that might help them glimpse the power of intuition, the crucial significance of it.

    Oy! I wish this one were public. I want to share it with a friend of mine who essentially dumped me for some of my narcissistic tendencies. She's self-identified co-dependent, and she's really sweet . . . And smart. And possibly open to seeing herself.

    I chuckled when Teal twitched her mouth . . . Because the other woman said after anger would come curiosity. Ha. After anger comes a lot more "negative" emotion before you get to curiosity. But Teal obviously let it go, lol.

    Salt Lake City 2014

    Having watched around twelve of these workshops from beginning to end, this is the first time seeing someone on stage who really sounds and acts like me. The first woman on stage, a writer, up her head, who Teal compares to a butterfly (which I believe is my spirit animal) . . . Terrified of joy and other positive emotions because those emotions mean loss to me. Terrified that expressing emotion means losing someone precious to me. Up in my head, where it is safe. Always thinking, thinking, thinking about feelings, because that's the only safe way to interact with them. Lots of drama about Mom. Dad was just "there." God. This is so me. So me that I can't even let it in. I think about it . . . Write about it . . . So as to keep the understanding but not yet let the feeling overtake me . . . Whew.

    I wrote about that before during one of my fever awakenings. Those "friends" are so energetically loud when consuming them that they can be very, very overwhelming whilst one is feverish and in a bit of a trance!

    It would be amazing if the subjects with links to pars of the video could be added to these older workshops. ~ Raederle PS: I always find it interesting how Teal has yet to run into any long-term polyamorous relationships. I can't imagine not having my two husbands at this point. They are my family, my community, my support system, and we all watch and read Teal together.
  16. Teal Team, I love that you're adding the subjects/questions above the workshop to make it easier to navigate. It would also be REALLY HELPFUL if there was a way to search all of tealswan.com for every relevant video, blog post, etc, to a given subject. For example, right now I'd like to review everything about Developmental Trauma, but Teal does not have an Ask Teal episode about this specifically. She's spoken about it in a dozen different videos I've seen, yet I'm not sure which interviews/workshops those were, and trying to find them has thus far been unsuccessful. Thanks for considering this idea. ~ Raederle

    In general I wish people would think more before judging. I wrote this today for my facebook wall in exactly that vein: I am on the narcissistic spectrum. Me and around 40% of people. Another 40% are distinctly on the co-dependent spectrum, and these people are usually covertly even more manipulating than narcissists. Don't be so quick to judge someone just because they seem narcissistic or obsessed with themselves. Don't be quick to dismiss someone because they seem needy. All "poor behavior" is the result of childhood trauma, and much "poor behavior" is actually healthy rebellion against an unhealthy social paradigm. Perhaps even more importantly: understand that all people (without exception) have sides to them. If you've only ever seen someone have a single set of values, priorities and behaviors, then the chances are that this person has even more deeply repressed their "shadow" ("unacceptable") aspects of self. I was heading down this route of hyper-repression, and at the age of 23 I was a very, very consistent person who stayed in my "raw food guru" personality even when alone. It has taken a lot of internal work to accept the facets of me that exist within me that don't fit into my idea of a "perfect" person. If someone is acting like two completely different people that doesn't make them fake, that makes them more authentic than most people. The bottom line: If you have not spent at least thirty hours in deep, meaningful conversation and interaction with someone, don't condemn them or write them off. People will surprise you when you finally see their vulnerable side. Beneath hate you will find hurt. Behind jealousy you will find despair. Behind anger you will find helplessness. Behind anger you will find fear. Hurtful behaviors comes from hurting individuals. Don't hate them; hug them.

    After Enlightenment

    I'm glad you're enjoying a premium member. I find it worthwhile. I always watch her new Ask Teal video every week on youtube, and every couple weeks I come onto Premium and binge on all of Teal's latest updates. I try to catch the workshops live too. Occasionally I try to vary my guru sources and read some Ekhart Tollie or Richard Bach, and their stuff is great, but honestly, Teal is the best. I think it is more that enlightment is something that comes more easily when you've had it before. Children are often too worried about coping with their circumstances to be in an enlightened state, I think. But then, as someone like Teal comes into their own, they find that they learn faster, grow faster, etc, because they're just toning the muscles they already built before. That's my take on it. I don't think I've heard Teal explain it anywhere in her own words.

    Wow. Memoirs of Geisha was like that for me too. I related so strongly at an emotional level, even though my life has never been literally like that at the physical level. I only saw that movie once, around 14 years ago I want to say, and it has always stuck with me.

    I watched the ad because of you Teal. I was also shocked by the comments. I actually felt moved to tears when watching the ad. It was so well done. I couldn't believe the responses. But then . . . I thought about an ex from high school, and suddenly I could believe them. It made me glad that I left that man and married someone else, someone who approves of messages like that one.

    I always find it shocking how dense people can be . . . Of course someone changes clothes for the activity they're doing! You're so natural Teal. I never think you're pretending, although sometimes I can tell you're not telling us all the esoteric stuff because you know we're not ready (as a whole) for all those subtleties.

    I don't consume any of those. They're all refined sweeteners. Technically, in the case of honey, the bees did the refinement rather than a machine, but honey is still powerfully concentrated. Personally, if something has a sweetener in its ingredients, I don't eat it. Green stevia leaf (powdered, but not ever refined) is fine, since its just a dried herb. You can also use raw carob powder, which are powdered pods. Carob is great for sweetening pure cacao to make a tasty chocolate blend.
  24. Personally, I use hazelnuts instead of peanuts or cashews, because peanuts and cashews are high in lectins which most people are at least a little sensitive to. Also, I'd use dried mulberries or dates rather than maple syrup because of how concentrated a sweetener maple syrup is. It personally causes me migraines. We've been making some raw vegan brownies by simply blending the following in the food processor, mashing the mixture onto a cutting board and then slicing: 2 cups hazelnuts (organic, raw) 1 cup dates, pitted (organic, raw) ¾ cup cacao powder (organic, raw) ½ teaspoon vanilla extract 2 Tablespoons water It's funny, I've published several recipe books, but I have yet to finish most of my more serious books, and yet Teal is the opposite, having four published process-oriented books, but not yet having a recipe book out.

    Watch the workshops. Each workshop is 2 to 5 hours of footage, Teal working with each person for 10 to 40 minutes. Also, the Ask Teal series on youtube is very detailed.
