Coping with OCD

Hi all, I am from Toronto. I would like to share my experience with the obsessive compulsive disorder. For many of us, this can be helpful while for some other situations it can be a burden. I used to be a clean freak. I clean a lot. I always wanted to ensure that my house is neat and clean. Once chickenpox spread in our locality and I got scared of it. I never had chickenpox before. I never wanted to have rashes appear on my body. I started to clean my house every day. I closed the doors and windows because I was scared the bacteria might enter my house. I doubted whenever I find any changes in my body. Whenever I see any spots appearing on my body I thought it might be rashes. I was scared out of my wits. If I notice any changes in my body I would conclude that those might be the symptoms of this disease. Then I took the vaccination. Even after taking the vaccination, my anxiety and fear never stopped. I just want to get rid of these unreasonable thoughts and I contacted one of my friend who is working in an obsessive compulsive disorder clinic in Toronto. She helped me snap out of it. Are there any others who experience obsessive compulsive disorder? How did you manage to get off it?
