Be Yourself

Simple message that I want to put out there:

Don’t try to be what the world thinks you should be.   Become the person that you have always wanted yourself to be.

A great message @Scot I think there is an issue to it though: How are you yourself? Is it possible to be someone else? If so when do you know it's truly you and not someone else you're being?

That is a really great question @Zhaky and it goes straight to a problem with my overall message.

i believe their are many “us” inside of ourselves. We have a casual self, and a formal self.  We have fun-loving self.  We have a so-called higher self and therefore we have a lower self.   In Jungian theory, we have an animus and anima which correspond to a “masculine” self and a “feminine” self.   Each of these “selves” feel completely natural and we think we are them.

So then which one of these should we be?  All of them, in a way that pleases us.  But we have to please ourselves both for the short term and also for the long term.
