Fibromyalgia: How to heal chronic pain illnesses?

I have been struggling with Fibromyalgia for 11 years.  It is a chronic pain condition thought to be brought on by overactive nerves, plus a reduced ability for your brain to stop pain signals.  There is evidence that it affects multiple systems of the body too.  The potential symptom list is extensive, but the main ones are chronic pain of the tissues of the body, fatigue (as your brain can't get to the deepest sleep level due to the pain it is fighting), brain fog and cognitive issues, nausea, skin gets sensitive (like i scratch an itch lightly and feel like I bruised myself, or I can feel the seams on my clothes).

This illness is greatly affecting my life and my loved ones in a number of ways that are extremely difficult, for all of us.  The medical community does not understand this illness yet, and still don't really know how to treat it.  I really have a couple questions I'd like to see if I can get answers to, and this illness affects so many of us and chronic pain issues are so prevalent in our society, I think it would be a great topic for Teal to cover. Of course, any feedback from the Tribe is more than welcome.  :)

1. I have had odd experiences my whole life, seen "visions," know things I shouldn't be able to, very empathic, there's a long list of things I experience actually.  I've also gone through some pretty significant trauma throughout my childhood and have been diagnosed as PTSD.  (Which I agree with Teal that everyone has it).  I've never felt like I have managed my experiences very well and have been working on healing for a long time now, and I think it will be a lifelong healing process for me as my trauma is pretty extensive.  I've also felt so overwhelmed by the combination of trauma and being so different from everyone, I've tried to ignore what I experience most of my life.  Anyway, the details are not the point here :), is this illness a result of my ignoring my "gifts" or my trauma or both?

2. Is it possible for me to heal this illness so it never comes back?  And how do I do that?

Thank you,

IvyRain (Lisa W.)
