Shadow work


In some of her videos Teal Swan is talking about shadow work and explains a process that reintegrate our suppressed emotions from our childhood(or traumas).

My question is..can I do this process like a regular meditation,every day?Am I supposed to do this process only when I'm triggered,or I can do it any time? much should it take?It is OK if I set a timer to do this process,let's say..for 20 minutes?
