how to be more in the body.

3 posts in this topic

i have what they call general anxiety disorder. i maladaptive daydream since ive been a teen. trying to cope with life.

life isn't so bad anymore. but i struggle with things. like i always feel like i am floating outside myself. watching myself. i am never grounded.

never in my body. i have to use a lot of energy just trying to ground myself. drag myself together. just to be able to walk outside. just focusing on now ,is hard. its easier to detached and daydream to get through the day. any tips on how to ground myself?

Congratulations on your first post :)

There are so many ways to ground, I personally love being in nature. Simply staring at a tree, listening to it talk through the wind, touching its delicate branches, telling it how beautiful it is.

Here is an article that goes into more in-depth discussion of being grounded, embodied, and more : )  But first, a little excerpt from the article:

Quote

Intuition and the Wisdom of the Body

These interrelated questions frequently come up in conversations with others: how do we learn to trust ourselves? How do we learn to connect with our intuition and inner knowing? How do we separate projections or wishful thinking from genuine intuition and inner knowing? How do we connect to our own unique purpose? As mentioned before, the key lies in reconnecting to the energetic and cellular matrices of the body. We are already disconnected from nature and Her cycles, and have been for thousands of years. In this day and age, technology and computerization have disconnected us even more from our own bodies as well. Many people are now merely “walking brains”. They’re successful in matrix terms, but – having lost body sensitivity, inner guidance and connection to “spirit” – they’ve become mere cogs in a giant machine, without even realizing it.

“I honor and acknowledge my physical Being as the pinnacle manifestation of my spiritual identity.”
