Can you delete Thoughts?

8 posts in this topic

You cannot delete thoughts.

You can, however, transform thoughts. This can be like they're deleted since they're overwritten.

How do you transform them? If you follow Teal's methods you will be able to do it. It's just about being present with the thought and allowing it to express itself. If you're having trouble with a thought then you can think of it as a separate entity whose perspective you want to delve into and understand. It will transform when you give it awareness and allowance to express itself.

If the problem is more widespread than just a thought and is more like a trait, then you can look into what Teal describes as "exalting".

Or you can always go the tried-and-true method of just changing the thought to something else whenever it comes up. Be patient because it takes about 2-3 weeks for a new neural pathway to become established.

a lot of your thoughts aren't even yours, they're just thoughts and you give meaning to them. tv does this on a subconscious level and even the collective consciousness which everyone is connected to and they aren't necessarily your thoughts, just the thoughts the average person has. you can choose to believe them or not, but a thought isn't true, its just a thought. like any self deprecating thought is just a thought, you got it from someone, you didn't come up with it on your own. find the root of where it came from and change the meaning.

When one says that he wants to 'delete' something it generally implies that he has some form of resistance to it.

I don't think that thoughts can just disappear, as nothing can really be destroyed in this Universe, if you get what I mean. We can change our thoughts just like we transform a piece of physical matter into something else.

negative thoughts are mental frequencies that we can alter , and there are lots of different ways to do so.

It is useful not to think of thoughts as even originating in the mind or subconscious. The mind is more of a receiver and the ego very quickly likes to take claim to the thoughts.

Consider thoughts like birds, and the kind and quality of birds we see depends on the emotional climate we're in. It is best to look at the thoughts/birds for what they are, which are simply entities arising of their own propensity due to the climate they are born from. They are not your thoughts anymore than birds in the sky belong to you. Anyone a part of the same climate/vibration is experiencing the same thoughts. If we wish to change thoughts, it's no use looking at the birds hoping they will be different, or trying to cage them and put them away, as another bird or thought will replace it soon enough, as is natural to its regional climate. It is better simply to set our compass towards climates we prefer, that give birth to thoughts that are more in alignment with what we prefer.
