Ask Yourself...

#87

What am I currently allowing?

(Answer In The Comments Below )
From "100 Of The Most Powerful Questions You Can Ask Yourself"

Nothing has the power to completely alter perspective and therefore your thoughts and actions and life quite like a question. Inquiry leads to understanding. The quality of the answers we arrive at, correspond directly to the quality of question we ask. The better the question, the better the answer. One of the most important things to realize about a question is that a person learns far, far more from the process and work involved in answering a question than from the answer itself. This is why spiritual teachers throughout history (including myself) have tended to pose so many questions to their students rather than to simply offer a direct answer. For this reason, I have selected a collection of 100 of the most powerful questions that you can ask yourself.

Make sure to take time to carefully consider each question that is posed in order to meaningfully answer them. And don’t forget to come back to these questions again and again throughout your life, especially whenever you are feeling stuck, because the answers will most likely change over the course of your life and also cause you to change your course in life.

Im allowing my inner critic to step forward this weekend. A lot of anger, grief and disappointment coming thru. Trying to understand that part of me, epescially when The inner critic is having argument with my husband (or other adults at work) My husband is confused, he says.

I’m allowing myself to hate myself. To see all the things I’ve done wrong instead of seeing how far I come and how much I have learned from things that are “not acceptable.”

I am allowing other’s desires and preferences cloud my own personal desires and truths.

I understand myself doing that because I was raised that way and the consequences were intolerable if I did not comply. So I don’t want to beat myself up for allowing that to happen.

However I see that love that is only given when I lose myself is not love.It is not a virtue to sacrifice myself.

I want to prioritize my personal truth and preferences over other people’s. It is okay to prioritize yourself. It’s not like you’re going to completely throw away their perspective. It’s just that you are going to see both yours and theirs and be able access compatibility.

Sadness, discomfort in not understanding, distancing from loved ones when necessary for their own growth.

For it will all go the other way too.

Allowing myself to sit with feelings of self hate, remorse, and whatever comes up for any causation I’ve done by the way I communicated or treated someone, and sit with the consequences without blaming and destroying myself over it. Allowing myself to take responsibility for my part and understand the other person’s.  I’m allowing myself to take responsibility for my part, but not blaming and taking on everyone’s parts to self sacrifice.

I'm allowing myself to go for what I want with my fear right beside me. I'm scared yall, and I'm doing it anyway. I put off learning to drive for 15 years. I got my permit and took driving courses this year, and yesterday I bought my first ride (an SUV I've mentally seen myself in since I was 8). This feels so good. Next stop: new home.
