Ask Yourself...

#22

When do I remember feeling the happiest in my childhood and why?

(Answer In The Comments Below )
From "100 Of The Most Powerful Questions You Can Ask Yourself"

Nothing has the power to completely alter perspective and therefore your thoughts and actions and life quite like a question. Inquiry leads to understanding. The quality of the answers we arrive at, correspond directly to the quality of question we ask. The better the question, the better the answer. One of the most important things to realize about a question is that a person learns far, far more from the process and work involved in answering a question than from the answer itself. This is why spiritual teachers throughout history (including myself) have tended to pose so many questions to their students rather than to simply offer a direct answer. For this reason, I have selected a collection of 100 of the most powerful questions that you can ask yourself.

Make sure to take time to carefully consider each question that is posed in order to meaningfully answer them. And don’t forget to come back to these questions again and again throughout your life, especially whenever you are feeling stuck, because the answers will most likely change over the course of your life and also cause you to change your course in life.

Ooh yes, also singing, in school assembly. I loved the freedom of singing and feeling of connection with singing in a group.

I was happiest when I was at my nan's house, because she gave me attention but wasn't trying to change me. She would cook me lovely food - anything I wanted (mainly chips and homemade cake), and she would show me crafting like crochet or sewing or just making things out of cardboard. She never ever raised her voice to me. I felt safe very around her.

Watching the science, discovery, history, and travel channels. I really enjoy learning new things. I loved seeing what/where we've come from and then seeing what/where we could be.

Playing in the snow, when I made that igloo.

Riding my bike.

Horseback riding in the woods.

Singing around the camp fire.

Vacationing in So. Cali at my uncles home.

Buying the stuff I liked and dressing up for school in September.

Seeing Santa.

Chocolate mint chip ice cream down the shore.

The smell of the ocean air.

Why? Because it was fun, made me feel joyful and happy to be alive.

Playing Halo with my best friend, and running up a hill during a moment and chapter called "Final Run", and being so happy just going on an epic sci-fi adventure. I remember feeling excitement and joy. I felt the nostalgia of that many years later and did a digital drawing of that scene to return to the sentiment.

Going camping with my grandparents, they focused on me and I really liked that and I remember the first time I prayed with them. We went through and said out loud who we loved and they named all our family members. I felt really special around them.

Driving bycicle with other kids on the street in the summer, because of the beeing with others, getting to know others,

Gazing at the full moon. Because it made me feel a certain way very deeply, it felt magnetizing

Swimming, swinging, running, screaming, climbing, reading books from the library unattended, cause I enjoyed those activitys and they gave me a sense of freedom. (And empowerment)

beeing with my grandmother, because we where friends and I loved her and she also loved me

beeing at other peoples homes (because I felt more free and safer than at home and like I could actually breath)

That one time I was swimming in the midst of a giant lake and the sunset with huge with sparks of orange and pink, (I felt alive and held by source forever)

Spending time with animals.

Seeing and learning new things.

That one time I slept outside in the garden on a chair (because it gave me a sense of freedom and beeing held by source)

Being a shepherd and sitting with my grandmother under the ancient tree in the middle of green fields and wild beasts. Because life was so simple and beautiful back then and the connection with everything was so real.

Two times

one where I was a kid and would go to my aunts house. She would give push pops. The kind that are wrapped in plastic. It was a bit like a toy.

another is my nana growing up. Some reasonable of happiness.

My childhood wasn't happy, but I was.

I was happy in every possible moment regardless of beeing beaten up in 2  hours, or 2 hours ago.

Ide like to regain this quality.

The most happy I've been with my grandmother cause I felt a sense of belonging with her and I felt loved and appreciated with her.

The most happiest that I have felt in my childhood was during one of my birth days. I forgot on how old I was turning. Maybe, 5 or 6. When I received a simple plain white marble cake. No letters, no decorations on this cake. Vanilla batter. And middle layer whipped cream filling in between each layer. Something about that simple and plain white vanilla cake reminded me of fluffy clouds and heaven...it wasn't even about the attention. It wasn't even about the gifts or presents. It was about this single lit candle that sat upon this cake. That had the single number of how old I was turning...and when I paused to wish for something was when I felt happiest in my childhood...that moment of pause between the inhale and exhale of me blowing out the candle...the taste of that cake....I don't know...something about that moment...captured me.
